Action Medical Research
Thank you to all those people who have donated to our Trust so far. We are very pleased to announce that we are helping to fund Brain Injury Research run by Action Medical with a donation of £5000. This is a project close to our hearts as one of the types of brain injury they are researching is diffuse axonal injury - the injury which took our beautiful Rhiannon. This is a statement from them:
Action Medical Research has a long and proud history of funding research to help children with disabilities. Action is currently funding a research project at Imperial College London, where researchers are developing sophisticated new brain scans to enable more accurate diagnosis of problems after head injuries, including traumatic brain injuries. We hope that, one day, this work will help doctors predict how each child may be affected and identify the healthcare and educational support that will be most beneficial. Since most modern MRI scanners could perform these scans, this work could benefit children across the UK and beyond. Action is jointly funding this work with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. You can read more about this project here:
